New Cell Phone Technology: 10 best free Windows phone 7 apps

Even this early on, Windows Phone 7, the new cell phone technolgy from the world's favorite Operating System (I have Microsoft shares!!) has a strong list of apps that you expect to see on any platform; Twitter, Seesmic, Flixster, OpenTable, yelp, IMDB, LastFM, iHeartRadio, Slacker, Netflix ...
These are not only basic, ' booth Windows Phone ' apps; you can use Netflix to get streaming titles on your phone, not just pick that DVD.

There's even a Facebook client, although there is so much Facebook integration in Windows phone you only really need to see events.

There are vintage apps from other platforms such as the iSilo and Freda ebook readers, plenty of handy little apps that do a useful (such as the PicFx instrument for tilt-shifting photos or images Downloader you can grab the latest Bing backgrounds) and we expect much more.
Here are our current top 10 free Windows phone 7 apps.

1. Shazam
This is one of the most beautiful Shazam clients that we have seen for each phone; the panoramic interface works well and (at least for now), you can set up an unlimited number of tracks to find out what that catchy song on the radio-tag.

Once you find the track you can jump directly to the Zune Marketplace to hear of 30 seconds of the song and buy or listen to the whole track, you've found a Zune Pass.

2. IHeartRadio
Streaming internet radio American style, with 750 stations across America, organized by the city or genre, plus some celebrity channels. Your texts for the playback of the track and a link to it on the market to buy, or you can sign up for a free account to build your own stations – although as Slacker (which streams only-Internet genre stations) you need to have a u.s. zip code to log on (Beverly Hills, anyone?).

3. Foursquare
Another well designed and comprehensive Windows phone 7 version of a well-known app. after the check-ins, mayorships, friends, tips you have left, badges you've earned and locations you have saved for a visit to his; but they are tucked under your profile, who for some reason is buried in the extensive menu, so you might miss.

4. Adobe Reader
You don't have Flash for Windows Phone 7 yet, but the official Acrobat app allows you to open PDF files from webpages and email attachments (and that you have stored on the phone). you can pinch to zoom in and out and swipe to move from page to page (but you cannot search a file).

5. Twitter
You are spoilt for choice between the official Twitter client, which has every feature you can think of (although you can see only lists you created), and Seesmic, which has a similar full set of features (including lists you follow). Twitter has predictive text, so it wins for now.

6. eBay
The eBay customer looks simple but it is packed with features. setting a price range for a search, browse by category, objects or bid directly from the phone (including making a best offer), then pay with PayPal.You can see what you're watching, buying and selling-the only thing you can't get an item for sale.

7. YouTube
With no Flash is YouTube app a vital emergency solution that does not exceed the minimum; click on a YouTube video on the Web and will play in this. Videos fast and look good, although minimal controls (pause and restart, in fact, if you see the progress bar does not drag) and the ' app ' is just a wrapper for loading the mobile YouTube site.
